Calculators, receipts and guides that go with this estimate.
Pest control customers usually call when they've already seen the problem, so they want to know what you'll do, how fast it works and whether they're signing up for a contract. The estimate should start with what the inspection found: which pest, where and how severe. Then separate the initial treatment, which is usually heavier and more expensive, from any recurring service. Termites, bed bugs and rodents are their own categories with different methods and pricing, from exclusion work to heat treatment. Be clear about preparation the customer must do, expected results and what happens if pests come back between visits. Pest control is a licensed trade in most states, and many states have specific rules for contracts and pesticide notices, so check your state's rules.
Do I have to sign a contract for pest control?
Not always. Many companies offer one-time treatments and recurring plans. Your estimate should say clearly whether the price assumes a plan and how to cancel.
Why is the first treatment more expensive?
The initial visit usually covers more area, uses more product and may include exclusion work to break the infestation. Follow-up visits maintain the result.
Is pest control safe for pets and kids?
Technicians follow product label directions, which include re-entry times. Give the customer written instructions for pets, children and food areas.
