Calculators, receipts and guides that go with this quote.
Photography quotes are built from three pieces: your time on site, the editing that happens after, and what the client actually receives. Clients often compare packages only by hours, so it's worth spelling out the rest: how many edited images to expect, how they're delivered, how long editing takes, and whether prints or albums are included. For commercial and product work, usage rights belong in the quote too. A company putting photos on billboards needs a different license than a family hanging a print in the hallway. A retainer that locks in the date is standard, especially for weddings and weekend events that can only be booked once. Put the delivery time and the 'no raw files' policy in writing to avoid the two most common disagreements.
Is it a photography quote or an estimate?
For photography 'quote' is the usual term, because you're offering a fixed price for defined coverage and deliverables. An estimate suggests the price may change; a quote says what the client will pay if nothing in the scope changes.
Should I give clients the raw files?
Most photographers don't, because unedited images don't reflect their work. If you do offer raw files, price them as an add-on and say they're delivered as-is.
How do I handle usage rights for business clients?
Describe where the images will be used (website, social, ads, print), for how long and in which regions. Broader usage usually costs more. Keeping copyright and granting a license is common practice.
