Estimates, receipts and guides that go with this invoice.
For DJs, the invoice is usually sent twice: once to collect the balance before the event and, if the party runs late, once more for overtime. The main invoice should show the event date, venue and set times, the performance hours, and each piece of equipment or extra service, such as ceremony audio, uplighting or a photo booth. The retainer paid to hold the date gets credited, leaving the balance due by your deadline, typically a week or two before the event. Overtime is the line people forget: agree on an hourly rate in advance, and when the client asks you to keep playing, bill it on a short invoice the next day. Travel and parking for distant venues can go on their own lines too.
When should the balance for a DJ be paid?
Most DJs ask for the balance one to two weeks before the event so the night itself isn't about money. Put the date on the invoice.
How do I bill overtime as a DJ?
Agree on an hourly overtime rate in advance, then send a short invoice after the event with the extra hours. Getting the client's OK on the night avoids any argument.
Is the retainer refundable if the client cancels?
That depends on your contract. Many DJs make the retainer non-refundable because the date was held. Whatever you agreed, state it in the invoice terms too.
Yes. Make and download as many as you want, no signup. Free PDFs carry a small Presupuestado mark; Pro removes it and adds your logo.
