Estimates, receipts and guides that go with this invoice.
Junk removal is usually priced by how much of the truck the load fills, so the invoice should state the volume clearly, for example a half load or 6 cubic yards. Items that cost more to dispose of, like mattresses, tires, appliances with refrigerant or paint, belong on their own lines, since landfills and recyclers charge extra for them. Heavy materials such as concrete, dirt or roofing shingles are often billed by the yard or with a weight limit, because they fill the weight capacity long before the volume. If you did light demolition first, like taking apart a shed or a hot tub, bill that time separately. Customers often hire you once, so collect payment on completion, while you are still standing next to the empty garage.
How do I show the load size on a junk removal invoice?
Use the same unit you quoted, usually a fraction of the truck (quarter, half, full) or cubic yards. Writing it on the invoice avoids arguments about how much was taken.
Why charge extra for mattresses and appliances?
Many dumps and recyclers charge per item for mattresses, tires and appliances, and refrigerators need refrigerant handled properly. Listing them separately shows the cost is real.
Should I mention donation or recycling on the invoice?
If you donate or recycle items, a note on the invoice is a nice touch, and some customers ask for a donation receipt from the charity for their own records.
