Estimates, receipts and guides that go with this invoice.
Local moves are usually billed by the hour, so the moving invoice needs to show time in a way customers trust: the start time, the end time, any travel time and the crew size. Put the hourly crew rate on one line and the truck on another if you charge them separately. Packing materials like boxes, tape and mattress bags are easy to forget and easy to dispute, so count what you actually used. Extra charges for stairs, long carries, elevators and heavy items such as pianos or safes belong on their own lines, ideally matching what was in the estimate. Take payment at the end of the move. For long-distance and interstate moves, extra rules on paperwork apply, so check the regulations that cover your type of move.
How do I invoice an hourly local move?
Bill the crew hours from start to finish, plus any travel time you agreed to charge, and write the times on the invoice. Many movers also set a minimum number of hours.
Should I charge for packing materials separately?
Yes. Boxes, tape, wrap and mattress bags vary a lot between moves, so billing them by quantity is fairer than building them into the hourly rate.
When should the customer pay for a move?
Most local movers collect payment at the end of the move. Put that in your terms and in the estimate so the customer has the payment method ready.
Yes. Make and download as many as you want, no signup. Free PDFs carry a small Presupuestado mark; Pro removes it and adds your logo.
