Estimates, receipts and guides that go with this invoice.
A painting invoice should read like the estimate the customer already agreed to, with the real numbers filled in. List rooms or exterior elevations separately, show the number of coats, and keep paint and primer on their own line so the customer can see what went onto the walls. If the job grew, for example extra drywall patching, a color change after the first coat or trim that needed scraping, put each change on its own line and note when it was approved. Credit any deposit you took up front and show the balance due. Painters often finish in a few days and then wait weeks to get paid, so send the invoice right after the final walkthrough, while the customer is still looking at fresh, clean walls.
Should I list paint colors on a painting invoice?
It helps. Writing the brand, color name and sheen, for example eggshell walls and semi-gloss trim, gives the customer a record for touch-ups and settles any later question about what was agreed.
How do I bill for an extra coat the customer asked for?
Add it as a separate line with its own quantity and price, and note the date the customer approved it. Keeping it apart from the original scope makes the higher total easier to accept.
Can I invoice for paint before the job is finished?
Yes. Many painters collect a deposit or bill materials at the start, then send a final invoice for the balance. Show the earlier payment as a deposit received so it's credited.
Yes. Make and download as many as you want, no signup. Free PDFs carry a small Presupuestado mark; Pro removes it and adds your logo.
